Clinical studies at the CCC Marburg

Clinical studies are used to examine new treatment methods or drugs with regard to their effectiveness and safety. The aim is to find therapies that are more effective or better tolerated than the known standard treatment. Clinical studies thus form the basis for medical progress and continuous improvement in the treatment of cancer patients.

As an oncological center, one of the most important tasks of the CCC Marburg is to advance clinical research by participating in and developing studies. The patients who are treated at the UCT as part of their cancer therapy benefit primarily from this. You will have the opportunity to take part in on-site studies and gain access to new and innovative treatment methods before anyone else.

For patients who would like general information about clinical trials in cancer therapy or who are thinking about participating in a clinical trial, we have an overview on the topic of "What are clinical trials?" compiled. This gives answers to the questions:

What are therapy studies?
Why are studies conducted?
How are studies conducted?
How is patient safety guaranteed in studies?
How do studies work in practice?
Should I take part in a study?
A list of the current studies at the CCC Marburg and other clinics in the region can be found in the Hesse study register.

The joint study register Hessen is an initiative of the coordinating clinics in the Hessian oncology concept. The studies that are carried out in Marburg can be found there already selected. However, you can also extend your search to other Hessian clinics.
