About us

The aim of our bowel center is to ensure and further develop highly qualified early detection, diagnostics, therapy and follow-up care for bowel cancer. The Darmzentrum Marburg is an amalgamation of different specialist departments of the University Clinic Giessen and Marburg GmbH, Marburg location, resident doctors and other cooperation partners (general practitioners, gastroenterologists, internists, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, radiation therapists, psychologists, self-help groups and oncologically trained nursing staff) who deal with the diagnosis and treatment of colon cancer.

In order to keep patient care up to date with the latest medical status and to continuously review and improve our work, we undergo external reviews. That is why we were checked for the first time as part of the certification by TÜV-Süd according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 in September 2011 and the German Cancer Society (OnkoZert) in July 2013 and the defined high quality of the intestinal center was confirmed.

These reviews have been repeated annually since then and also expanded to include other cancers, so that in 2016 it was confirmed as a pancreatic center. Since then, both types of tumors have been combined in one visceral oncology center.
