Welcome to the Center for Personalized Medicine – Oncology (ZPM-O) in the Comprehensive Cancer Center Marburg (CCC). The ZPM-O was founded in 2023. We work very closely with UCT-Frankfurt, and together we are supported as a top oncology center by the German Cancer Aid.

Personalized medicine is still a young field that treats cancer in an interdisciplinary manner based on the molecular properties of the tumor. This is the case if treatment within guideline-based therapies or studies has not shown any success or if it is a very rare tumor disease.

Interdisciplinary collaboration and well-organized networking of specialists from the individual disciplines (oncology, pathology, molecular biology, human genetics, radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy) ensure rapid and comprehensive care at the UKGM Marburg location. For targeted diagnostics, we use the most modern molecular pathological examination techniques, which we can use to suggest possible further treatment options to you and your treating doctor.

Each registered case is presented at our tumor conference (Molecular Tumor Board, MTB) and a specialized team of doctors and scientists from the disciplines involved develops individual and best-possible therapy concepts, which they recommend to the treating doctor for further treatment. Our goal here is to find another therapy option for you. This therapy option can be an individual attempt at healing or inclusion in an innovative study. A treatment suggestion cannot be made to all patients

At the regional level, we are networked in the Marburg Oncology Center (CCC) and work with other oncology centers at other hospitals and hemato-oncology practices.

The ZPM-O Marburg is part of the German Network for Personalized Medicine (DNPM). Through this networking, there is a scientific exchange between the individual ZPM-Os, which have set themselves the goal of standardizing molecular diagnostics and ultimately developing improved treatment strategies for people suffering from cancer.
